PQRS Individual Quality Measures

All PQRS individual quality measures can be reported with the MDinteractive registry. The PQRS address various aspects of care, such as prevention, chronic- and acute-care management, procedure-related care, resource utilization, and care coordination.
Measure selection begins with a review of the 2011 PQRI Measures List to determine which measures may be of interest to the practice. The list is available at the CMS PQRS website or at the AMA website. You also can check the PQRS Release Notes in order to find out what changed in 2011 for each individual measure.
The following factors should be considered when selecting measures for reporting:
• Clinical conditions usually treated
• Types of care typically provided – e.g., preventive, chronic, acute
• Settings where care is usually delivered – e.g., office, ED, surgical suite
• Quality improvement goals for 2011
Each provider will need to submit data on ≥ 80% of applicable Medicare patients on at least 3 individual measures in order to be eligible for the 1% bonus.
To report individual measures, you should register for free with MDinteractive. You may need contact MDinteractive in order to setup the appropriate PQRS measures in your account.
